I know you've prayed, tarried, watched, prayed, waited, and tarried some more, all with the faith of a mustard seed.
“And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.”
Matthew 17:20 KJV
But have you assumed the position?
Both physically and spiritually?
Even while we are waiting for the answered prayer, we must continue to do our part.
We have to continue to obey God in the previous work that he has given us to do.
If we cannot be faithful in the prior things, then why would he place even more on our shoulders?
We have to get to the point where the previous assignment is baseline for us.
That it doesn't stretch us to our ends, and consume all our might.
Doesn't exhaust us spiritually, mentally, and physically.
“His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”
Matthew 25:23 KJV
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Matthew 6:33 KJV
When we show that we can be faithful in the small things, in the mundane things, in the so-called 'beneath us' things, then God knows that he can add more to us.
But being more concerned thus with the quality of our hearts.
With the stability of our minds.
With the evenness of our tempers.
That we may see all things the same.
“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”
James 4:8 KJV
“Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.”
Psalms 4:4 KJV
“A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”
James 1:8 KJV
“If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.”
Daniel 3:17 KJV
“But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.”
Daniel 3:18 KJV
“But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.”
Job 2:10 KJV
Knowing also that God uses the situations we find ourselves in for our good, always.
He has the power to quite literally snatch us out of any trial.
But, if instead, by bringing us through the trial, we reap more spiritual integrity and become more Christ-like, then that is, by far, our best good.
That is in our best interest.
“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;”
2 Corinthians 4:13 KJV
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:”
Philippians 2:5 KJV
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Romans 12:2 KJV
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
Romans 8:28 KJV
“Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:”
1 Peter 4:12 KJV
“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;”
James 1:2 KJV
Knowing also that our God is beyond time.
And yet, he acknowledges our finitude.
That all our days are bound up in him.
Hidden in his sweet mystery.
Entangled by his long-suffering mercy.
And infinite goodness.
“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”
2 Peter 3:8 KJV
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Colossians 3:3 KJV
Even if, by our human understanding of time constraints,
it seems as if God is ignoring our prayers,
due to a perceived 'delay' or untimeliness of the anticipated response,
we can rest assured that all is well.
God's timing is perfect timing.
He knows that which we do not know.
He has saved us from that which we did not know was near.
And hushed the cries we dared not utter.
We can trust God.
He loves us and he is faithful.
More faithful and more loving than our minds can perceive.
Only by his Spirit can we begin to unpack the depth of love...
My God is deeper than the ocean,
higher than heaven...
“Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?”
Job 11:7 KJV
“It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know?”
Job 11:8 KJV
“The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.”
Job 11:9 KJV
“If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him?”
Job 11:10 KJV
His grace waits only on you.
Trust now.
Keep the faith.
Obey his previous instruction while you wait on the next set of directions.
You've noticed that the season has changed.
There's that familiar energy in the air.
You are ready to birth your answered prayer.
You seek the room.
But God controls the door.
In his time, Beloved.
“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”
Psalms 27:14 KJV
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:31 KJV
“Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment.”
Ecclesiastes 8:5 KJV
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
Hebrews 10:23 KJV
